KAA Gent 2015/16 third - Rami Gershon #55 (Belgian Pro League)

Match issued Gent 2015/16 third shirt, issued to Israeli center-back Rami Gershon #55 in the Belgian Pro League in the 2015/16 season. Unfortunately, Rami missed the majority of it due to a bad knee injury suffered in the beginning of the season, returning only in the second half of the season and making 13 appearances before the end of the season. He did get to play once in the Champions League, in the 2nd leg of the Round of 16 knockout tie against Wolfsburg, which Gent lost 1-0 and was eliminated from the competition.

This was the second of Rami's three seasons with Gent, where he had the best spell of his career and was first choice center back as the team won the Belgian League for the first time in their history in his first season at the club in 2014/15, as well as making a very impressive run in the Champions League in this season and in the Europa League the following season. After a total of 8 years in Belgium, including 101 appearances (scoring a single goal) for Gent, Rami returned home to Israel the following season, signing with Maccabi Haifa.

This third kit was very rarely used by the team in the league in 2015/16, but was always used in the Champions League with a different sponsor. Halfway through the previous 2014/15 season, the club's previous kit maker, Masita, went bankrupt. Jartazi stepped in in February 2015, designing these four kits to be used for the remainder of the 2014/15 season and all of 2015/16, meaning these kits were used for 1.5 seasons. Which is most likely the reason why they felt they needed four kits made. The 2015/16 shirts, however, feature a golden Belgian league patch, as opposed to the standard silver one, to indicate Gent as last season's champions (for the first time in the history). The real winners were Jartazi, for whom this whole situation ended up working out incredibly well - only a couple of months later Gent won the Belgian League!

I also have the very rare fourth kit from this season as well. While I am a massive fan of Rami Gershon, I am personally not a big fan of these Jartazi kits, and particularly the million sponsors around the shirt and the lack of the player's last name on the back.
