Match worn and signed Bolton Wanderers 2009/10 home shirt, with the embroidered poppy on the chest, was worn by Israeli midfielder Tamir Cohen #21 in a 5-1 away defeat to Aston Villa on November 7, 2009 at Villa Park. Tamir started the match but was injured and substituted after 29 minutes.
Tamir Cohen joined Bolton from Maccabi Netanya in 2008, spending 3.5 seasons at the Reebok stadium, the most successful period of his career. While he started well initially, his time at Bolton was blighted by long-term injuries, as he missed almost the entirety of the 2008/09 season. In 2009/10, his second full season at the club, he had his best season with Bolton, becoming a key player in Bolton's midfield, making 32 appearances (including 26 starts in the league), scoring 3 goals and providing 4 assists in all competitions as Bolton finished in 14th place in the league. In total, Cohen made 58 appearances and scored 6 goals during his spell at Bolton. Interestingly, despite only being a regular in the 2009/10 season, Cohen scored at least 1 goal in all four seasons he was at the club - 1 in 2007/08, 3 in 2008/09, 1 in 2009/10 and 1 in 2010/11.
This is my second poppy shirt, after my Beram Kayal Brighton 2018/19 shirt.
